Data centers are processing nodes. Very important to have some in your own country as requirements scale up all over the world. Also something as huge as this creates an ecosystem around it.

With regard to water, using sea water for cooling in data centers, especially in coastal or underwater locations is an established and proven technology. Google's own Hamina datacentre in Finland is an example.

This approach often uses sea water in a closed loop system, where sea water flows through a heat exchanger to cool fresh water circulating within the data center cooling system. This method significantly reduces the energy required for mechanical chillers and eliminates fresh water consumption. 

Thermal power plants located on the coast have been using this cooling technique for decades. In fact, the [Simhadri](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simhadri_Super_Thermal_Power_Station) power plant located next door in Visakhapatnam uses this very technique of cooling, using seawater pumped in from the Bay of Bengal. This plant became operational in 2002.

Data centers have their downsides, but they’re crucial for handling a country’s compute, storage, and AI needs. As long as people keep using the internet on a massive scale, whether it’s scrolling and posting on Reddit or building weather prediction models, we’re going to need them. You can think of data centers like big wind farms which are important infrastructure that powers our modern lives. Most of the jobs they create come during the build phase, and once they’re up and running, only a small team is needed to keep things going. Some people see them as an eyesore that drags down nearby property values. But they support millions of homes, businesses, and factories, and they help cut the carbon emissions that would come from running equivalent fossil fuel plants.

if we look at this project alone it is not a good deal. if we look at from building investment confidance and opening doors for various other oppportunities it is good.

Hyderabad was also build in similar way. at first people thought many project for encouraging software companies is just waste of money. but now hyderabad is what it is due to those investments. 

In investments life cycle. there is is pre seed stage, seed stage, expansion stage, maturity stage. 

Andhra pradesh is at pre seed stage. so most of the investments at this stage will be non profit oriented or loss oriented. but it is important for attracting more investors and companies to Invest i Ap.

On average a 1MW data centre provides 2-6 jobs based on existing DCs in India.
It is 1000 MW, the bigger the DC the lesser the average MW employee count. So for an 1000 MW 
The worst of worst case is 800 FTE.
Indirect and induced employees at the worst case scenario goes 3000.

Kharge is just salty. Naidu has a reputation. 25 years ago, he got Microsoft to invest in Hyderabad. He's very aggressive with his approach, something I'm sure his son has imbibed from him too. 

Karnataka had the first mover advantage till now. And Kharge thought they could coast on that. 
AP meanwhile saw its economy take a hit when Hyderabad went to Telangana and then the five years of Jagan Reddy's administration. Now both Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh are pulling all the stops to replicate the Hyderabad success in Vizag and Amaravati. 

Karnataka can use this as a means to grow border regions. For example, the Penukonda to Kodikonda belt in Andhra is home to KIA and other vendors, plus the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics. BEL is establishing a defence park here. 
All this within 50km of the Karnataka border. The state should look at establishing a complementing setup on this side of the border.

STT GDC India signed an MoU with the Karnataka government to invest ₹1,500 crore in data‑centres over the next 8‑10 years. During the construction phase they estimate up to 1,000 jobs; when operational they expect about 200 jobs. 

Web Werks India proposed to invest ₹20,000 crore for a data‑centre park in Bengaluru; the announcement mentions it would “add 1,000 new jobs” when fully commissioned. 

The Karnataka government is planning a 300‑acre “data centre park” in the Tavarekere / Hoskote‑Kolar belt (near Bengaluru) to cater for high‑capacity “GW‑scale” data centres plus smaller edge data‑centres in other cities (Mysuru, Hubballi, Belagavi). 

As part of the state’s data centre policy, Karnataka is targeting more than 200 MW of data‑centre capacity in the policy period, and to attract about ₹10,000 crore investment. 

This in a city like Bengaluru which is already suffering water shortage , over population &amp; insane traffic.

To bring Microsoft to Hyderabad, Naidu gave lots of concessions at that time but it did help in long term. Naidu helped establishing Hitec City and building Hyderabad brand while SM Krishna did same for Bangalore at that time.

When Naidu met CEOs of IT companies in other countries requesting them to invest in AP while promising incentives, opposition Congress leaders at that time were mocking him. He built IT sector in Hyderabad despite insults from Congress idiots. He is doing same now for Vizag despite facing personal abuse along with his family member from opposition Jagan.

Google is also investing in Renewable energy + T&amp;D lines to it's plants. It will be a captive power plant. $ 2bn of the $15bn is dedicated to this. That's 16,000 cr total.

While Google / AP govt has not announced plans for a captive desal plant but iirc there's a Tata DC planned ($6.5bn planned investment) and that has a captive Desal plant attached to it. I would assume the Google DC will also have this.

Bro may be in construction they can get the jobs , that too if they are skilled. Once you build a data center particularly if it's ai, you need clean water, lot of electricity and noise pollution. It will indirectly fall on people. With shortage or water, increase in electricity prices and some health issues due to noise in surrounding.

In the long run once data center is constructed you don't need many to maintain or run it. No jobs there.
